Italy's Lake Garda 2012 - 9 Day Holidays
|
| with Venice, Verona and Sirmione... |
Enchanting Lake Garda has attracted people since the beginning of civilization. It is surrounded by an amphitheatre of precipitous mountain sides that plunge into its deep blue waters. Verdant valleys grow lemons, oranges, limes, olives and many subtropical flora. Along its shores are resplendent little villages, villas and majestic ancient towns with a rich display of classical architecture. Coupled with an exceptionally mild climate is Lake Garda’s close proximity to the romantic cities of Verona and Venice. The beautiful lakeside towns have charmed visitors for years and are pretty, pleasant places to stay. The resort of Toscolano Maderno, on the lake’s ‘Riviera of Lemons’, is set amidst the most illustrious lakeside lands, and nestled atop a wide promontory, between the romantic port of Toscolano and the Gulf of Maderno. Crowned with evergreens and Mediterranean plants, and dating back to Roman times, Maderno and Toscolano have town squares with ancient churches, with bars, shops and cafes along the lakefront. A stroll brings you to the harbour, where you can sit and watch life on the lake go by... Thursday is market day here. |

Italy's Tuscany - Coast and Culture 2012
|
| Free Bar Breaks... |
Tuscany has long held a special place in the hearts of British visitors, who find its gentle landscapes of tree-clad hills and red-roofed, sun-baked buildings both uplifting and relaxing. Its jewel, of course, is the peerless city of Florence, closely followed by ancient Pisa, with its incomparable clutch of spectacular buildings. Marina di Pietrasanta is a beach resort on the Versilia Riviera, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, 8km north of Viareggio. The sea, beach (stretching for over 5km), pinewoods and mountains that surround the resort bestow a tranquil air, whilst the resort itself offers plenty to see and do for the visitor. The shoreline is home to a variety of bars and cafes, which overlook the wide sandy beaches. A visit to the nearby, inland medieval town of Pietrasanta (which claims to be the artistic capital of the Versilia region) is a must for that original Tuscan experience. Here we discover elegant shops, artists and sculptors amongst the wooden shutters and ochre-washed buildings in the deep alleyways that radiate from Piazza del Duomo. We include visits to historic Lucca, famous Pisa, the medieval towns of San Gimignano and Siena, and we also offer the opportunity to visit Florence with a guided walking tour. |

Paris 2012 - Europe’s capital of romance...
|
| with the Palace of Versailles |
The romantic city of Paris is surely one of the wonders of the world, literally oozing with culture and entertainment, and quite rightly recognized as the artistic capital of Europe. From its traditional cobbled streets to its wide boulevards and from the Gothic grandeur of Notre Dame to the artistic beauties that grace the walls of the Louvre, Paris extends its magic in all directions. Cafes, bars and restaurants line every street of this elegant city and offer a unique ambience and a glimpse of one of the most sophisticated social societies in the world. The city itself has a remarkable history and, like any great city, most of its leading heritage sites are available for public enjoyment; the Louvre Museum houses the world’s greatest art collection, the Eiffel Tower welcomes visitors to admire the incredible views from its highest levels, whilst Notre Dame Cathedral will inspire and delight. The Arc de Triomphe, Sacre Coeur, Montmartre, Avenue de Champs Elysees and the Moulin Rouge continue a list of sights which seems never ending! |

Prague - the ‘Golden City’ - 2012
|
| with Karlovy Vary and a cruise on the River Moldau... |
The ‘Golden City’ of Prague is the elegant, sensuous capital of the Czech Republic, and one of the most enchanting cities in Europe. Its architecture is diverse and much of it was undamaged by World War II. Thus, intriguing architectural details and façades can be found on every corner, which makes strolling through Prague's winding, cobbled streets wonderfully intoxicating. Among many attractions are the Charles Bridge, over the Vltava River, the great Prague Castle, the ‘Old Quarter’, with narrow streets, little taverns and restaurants, the broad sweep of Wenceslas Square, and great palaces of elegance and splendour. Seen from the surrounding hills, the many church towers make up a unique perspective, giving Prague its title as the ‘city of a hundred spires’. This holiday gives the opportunity to experience Prague at its best, with a guided tour, a river cruise and free time to enjoy the city at leisure. Our Bohemian experience also includes the chance to visit the beautiful and famous spa town of Karlovy Vary. |
