September 25, 2018 / 0 Comments / in Holiday Tips / by Leisuretime

Hey Leisuretimers, Christmas is creeping up quickly and it will soon be the season of goodwill and festive cheer!

Here are our 10 reasons to go away for Christmas...

1.) Spending Time With Loved Ones

With all the busy schedules and time taken up with work, Christmas is the perfect time to get away from it all and get the whole clan together for a special festive celebration. Taking time out to get away creates a great opportunity for spending quality time together.

2.) Alternative Traditions.

It's sometimes nice to see how other areas do things for Christmas. Travelling to a different region can give you a unique perspective on the different traditions practised by the locals.

3.) Escape the Hype

Christmas brings a lot of hype with it. For some people, it can be too much and the chance to get away from it all and enjoy a quiet family-orientated yuletide holiday can be just the ticket!

4.) Relax and Unwind

The Christmas period can be a lot of hard work. Taking a holiday can give you a chance to unwind and relax and let someone else do all the cooking and wash up the dishes!

5.) Keep the Children Occupied

School holidays can get boring very quickly for the little ones. Taking the family on a trip can provide lots of fun attractions and things to do to keep the kids occupied while you sit back and enjoy the watching them have the time of their lives!

6.) Use Your Holiday Days

If you've saved up lots of holiday time at your job, what better time to use some up and take a festive vacation. No one likes working at Christmas!

7.) Romantic Christmas

Christmas can be a very romantic time of year. Whether you're young or old, it can be the perfect opportunity to get away with the one you love and create some special festive memories together.

8.) Group Holidays Are Awesome

Why not travel in a group and have an unforgettable group trip to somewhere none of you have been before. Spending time with close friends and loved ones is what Christmas is all about. Enjoy each other's company in a fun destination and let the good times roll!

9.) New Family Traditions

Bored of the same old thing every year? Why not inject a little excitement into your family Christmas and travel together to somewhere away from home. You can have a fantastic trip together that will re-ignite your passion for Christmas and create a whole new family tradition for Christmas holidays to come.

Shirley Goes to Switzerland

September 09, 2018 / 0 Comments / in Leisuretime News / by Shirley King
Last month we took a fantastic trip to Switzerland! With its high snow-capped peaks and stunning lake views this holiday was one to remember!

We visited the Swiss Chocolate Train, Nestlé’s World of Chocolate and Gruyère cheese factory where everyone had a chance to sample the wide variety of delicious chocolates and see how these famous foods were made!

Everywhere we went there were lots of really friendly people welcoming us and giving us a taste of traditional Swiss customs and costumes.

Lake Geneva was a beautiful place to see. There are many statues of world famous icons such as Freddie Mercury and Aretha Franklin...

The lake itself was very picturesque and had boat rides for people to take a mini cruise out over the water.

Our Hotel was very comfortable and welcoming, the food was very tasty and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

There was so much to see and do on this fabulous trip! The sights were stunning, the people were friendly and our own Leisuretimers were fantastic company to share this memorable holiday with. Now I want to go back and do it all again!
