Exmouth is one of the oldest and most picturesque seaside towns in Devon. The town is the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and has two miles of sandy beach, which is perfect for water sports and walks, situated on the south east coast of Devon where the river Exe meets the sea. Close to Exeter, this vibrant town offers plenty of walking and cycling routes as well as local shops and restaurants to enjoy all year round.
Ashton Court Hotel
The Ashton Court is situated on Louisa Terrace, part of the town’s historic ‘Beacon’, where many notable people chose to make their homes during Exmouth’s Georgian heyday. The hotel enjoys super views of the Exe Estuary and the beautiful coastline stretching out toward Tor Bay. This panoramic scene greets us afresh every morning. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, lounge and lift.
After joining the coach, we head towards our destination that will have coffee/lunch stops along the way. We expect to arrive at our hotel late afternoon.
Days 2 - 4
Traditional English breakfast followed by free time and included excursions. Dinner and entertainment at the hotel.
After breakfast we make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards. "
Exeter is an ancient city on the River Exe in southwest England. Dating back to the Roman era, the Exeter City Walls surround its centre and Gothic Exeter Cathedral. Exeter Castle, a Norman landmark, overlooks leafy Northernhay and Rougemont Gardens. To their west, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM) displays fine art and costumes. The vaulted, medieval Underground Passages snake beneath the city making this a fascinating city to explore at any time of the year.
Sidmouth is a beautiful coastal town with a Regency feel which is ideal for visitors of all ages. Set in the middle of spectacular countryside, Sidmouth is home to beautiful beaches, stylish eating places and great shopping, with everything from unusual gifts, designer clothing and lifestyle goods available. Situated on the Jurassic Coast, its coastline is dominated by the vivid red sandstone cliffs which date back to the Triassic period. It is a great town for walking, be it a gentle stroll along the seafront or a more energetic climb up the stunning rocks. Make sure you also take some time to explore the town centre, rich in royal and architectural history, as well as discovering a great range of shops, cafes and restaurants.
