Great hotel location!

Situated 4 miles off England’s South Coast, the Isle of Wight is the UK’s holiday island. This diamond shaped
island is a true gem and was one of Queen Victoria’s favourite spots. Over 60 miles of stunning coastal
scenery and quaint villages will appeal to all ages and create lasting memories.
Attractions are in plentiful supply on the island, with something to suit everyone. Get a taste of the Isle of
Wight’s history and culture by visiting one of the Museums or historic sites. The most recognisable landmark
is The Needles Rocks and Lighthouse. A visit to the Isle of Wight wouldn’t be complete without visiting some
of its famous beaches and the island has the highest number of award-winning beaches in England.

Around the Island Tour

Rounding the Island, we pass through the superbly positioned village of Ventnor, one of the sunniest spots on the Island and built on a series of terraces that climb steeply towards St Boniface Down, from where there are spectacular views across the Bay. We move on, passing through the Island’s southernmost tip and the village of Chale, before arriving at Alum Bay at the Island’s western tip. The sandstone cliffs here are made up of twenty-one colours and it is from here that the Island’s most notable feature can be most clearly seen - the ‘Needles’, three giant chalk stacks, one of which is crowned with a lighthouse. Leaving Alum Bay we visit Yarmouth, a quiet town with a pretty harbour, stone quays, old houses and a 16th century castle built by Henry VIII.

Ryde & Cowes

The largest town on the Island, Ryde has fine Georgian and Victorian buildings, shops, tea-rooms, pubs, restaurants, and a marina. The sea-wall promenade provides a popular walk, passing the Victorian watchtower on the way to Puckpool Park. Cowes, famed for its professional sailing, stunning Victorian architecture and vibrant festival atmosphere is one of the most popular towns on the Isle of Wight to visit year round. Alternatively, take a short trip from West Cowes to East via the floating bridge (chain ferry) and make your way up through the town to witness Prince Albert’s stunning garden design and architecture that influenced the rest of Cowes’ designers and builders.
