Bury and Market Day
Historically, Bury was a mill which centred on textile production and it was in town fact the Brooksbottom Mill in Summerseat which launched Bury’s role in the cotton industry. Industry increased for the area when the town was connected to the national canal system by the Manchester Bolton and Bury Canal in the early nineteenth century. This is a fascinating place, with lovely people and an award winning market.
