We head to the stunning north west of England to bask in the beautiful views that make up most of the rural landscape. Steeped in history, legend and stunning scenery, join us and discover the delights of Lancashire including a heritage cruise and a ride on the East Lancashire Railway. We also take a trip to Oswaldtwistle Mills, a unique shopping experience that caters to all, providing an opportunity to shop to your heart’s content.

Britannia Scarisbrick, Southport

The Scarisbrick Hotel in Southport is ideally situated right in the heart of the town. This traditional hotel is set in a prime location, giving access to all that Southport has to offer whilst combining elegant and stylish decor with modern comfort. The Spindles Health Centre offers a fully equipped gym and an indoor swimming pool. Guests can also relax in the sauna (additional charge), jacuzzi and steam room, or try relaxing treatments in the beauty salon. The hotel has a lovely restaurant and choice of bars for guests to enjoy and all bedrooms are well appointed

Day 1

After joining the coach, we head towards our destination that will have coffee/lunch stops along the way. We expect to arrive at our hotel late afternoon.

Days 2 - 3

Traditional English breakfast followed by free time and included excursions. Dinner and entertainment at the hotel.

Day 4

After breakfast we make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.

Bury and Market Day

Historically, Bury was a mill which centred on textile production and it was in town fact the Brooksbottom Mill in Summerseat which launched Bury’s role in the cotton industry. Industry increased for the area when the town was connected to the national canal system by the Manchester Bolton and Bury Canal in the early nineteenth century. This is a fascinating place, with lovely people and an award winning market.

Lancaster & Oswaldtwistle Mills

Visit Lancaster’s castle and museums to uncover the city’s ancient stories hidden in its walls and buildings, and find out more about the people who shaped its history. Stroll along the meandering towpaths of the canal or along St George’s Quay, marvelling at the Georgian architecture which lines the banks of the River Lune. Explore the secret paths of Williamson Park and discover its hidden follies and stunning Edwardian designed butterfly house. Discover the open spaces and strong design of the two university campuses and find out how these seats of learning have influenced the city over the years.

Oswaldtwistle Mills is an award-winning shopping village that has something to amaze, charm and intrigue visitors of all ages. The former weaving mill has over 100 retailers all under one roof. The Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Pavers, Peacocks & Bonmarché, an extensive new home & lifestyle centre, craft & sewing centre, homewares, furniture, lighting, unique giftware, a gourmet deli selling locally made food produce, Stockley’s sweet shop, childrens play area, textile and heritage museum and even its own wildfowl reserve.

East Lancashire Steam

We also have tickets for the fabulous East Lancashire Railway. The line runs from Bury for 12 miles through scenic Lancastrian landscapes - beautiful rural panoramas and postcard pretty villages to bustling Victorian towns and cotton mill dotted horizons.

Lancaster Canal Cruise

We take a calming cruise along the Lancaster Canal and take in the wonderful scenery and stunning views of Lancaster's skyline. We then head into the city of Lancaster itself for some free time to explore.
