Enjoy the Spring Sunshine on Britain's favourite holiday island!
Situated 4 miles off England’s South Coast, the Isle of Wight is the UK’s most popular holiday island. This diamond shaped island is a true gem and was one of Queen Victoria’s favourite spots. Over 60 miles of stunning coastal scenery and quaint villages will appeal to all ages and create lasting memories. Attractions are in plentiful supply on the island, with something to suit everyone. Get a taste of the Isle of Wight’s history and culture by visiting one of the Museums or historic sites. The most recognisable landmark is The Needles Rocks and Lighthouse. A visit to the Isle of Wight wouldn’t be complete without visiting some of its famous beaches and the island has the highest number of award-winning beaches in England.
Our hotel is about 3 minutes walk to the sandy beach AND has an indoor pool, steam room and spa bath!
The Burlington Hotel
This is one of Sandown’s most established and reputable hotels. Located just a few minutes walk from the shops and the beach, the Burlington Hotel is a great holiday place for a weekend break. Originally built as private dwellings, they have been joined to create the largest hotel near to the town centre and seafront with its beautiful sandy beaches. The hotel offers a restaurant and bar and is known for the quality of its entertainment. There's an indoor swimming pool, steam room and even a spa bath to relax in. All bedrooms feature the usual amenities including tea and coffee making facilities and TV.
After joining the coach, we head towards the lovely Isle of Wight. There will be coffee/lunch stops along the way and we expect to arrive at our hotel late afternoon.
Traditional English breakfast followed by our included excursion to Shanklin. In the evening, unwind and relax with new friends as you enjoy dinner and some great entertainment at the hotel.
After breakfast we make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.
Shanklin really is the most charming of traditional seaside resorts with its glorious long wide sandy beach set against a backdrop of dramatic sandstone cliffs. It’s “old town” features thatched roofs and atmospheric bars & tearooms and the “Chine” takes you on a journey down to the sea. The Shanklin Esplanade, lined with traditional seaside games, amusements, cafes, hotels, restaurants and pubs, is the perfect place to while away your day whilst Rylstone Gardens provide the most tranquil and beautiful spot to sit and soak up the sunshine.
