Fancy watching the Six Nations at the seaside? Then why not join us on this great weekend break staying at the popular and centrally located Riviera Hotel, well-known for its incredible live entertainment, bingo and swimming pool (just in case you want to do a bit more than just watch the rugby!). We've got great excursions to Newton Abbot and Teignmouth for those that can tear themselves away from the TV for a few hours and we've even included a tasty Sunday Lunch to make this weekend a real hit!

The iconic palm trees could fool you into thinking you were in the Mediterranean. The coast of Torquay is scattered with beautiful piers and russet-red cliffs. Enjoy long leisurely walks along the promenade and take in the relaxed atmosphere. Make time to walk up the steps of Royal Terrace Gardens. Remember to take in the amazing sea views across the bay at night with the lights reflecting onto the sea. Add an Agatha Christie connection and steam trains and it all adds up to some grand days out beside the sea.

The Riviera Hotel, Torquay

The Riviera Hotel is in the heart of Torquay and Torquay is the perfect place to enjoy fabulous food, comfortable bedrooms, cabaret entertainment, superb indoor pool and friendly customer service, and it’s just a few minutes’ walk from Torquay’s award winning beaches, sparkling blue sea and all that Torquay has to offer. The accommodation comprises 140 well-appointed bedrooms with digital flat screen TVs, hairdryers and tea & coffee making facilities. Guests can enjoy free entertainment to suit all ages on most evenings of the year, including bingo, quizzes, highly professional cabarets and dancing.

Day 1

After joining the coach at one of our convenient local pick up points, we head for Torquay with convenient stops along the way. We expect to arrive in Torquay in the late afternoon. Check into the lovely Riviera Hotel, unpack and maybe take a stroll before dinner and your fabulous evening of live entertainment.

Days 2 - 3

Enjoy hearty traditional English breakfasts each day and time to explore Torquay on your own whilst also enjoying as much - or as little - of the rugby on the big screen as you choose! There will also be an INCLUDED excursion to Newton Abbot on Saturday to catch their weekly market and a visit to Teignmouth on Sunday morning before your delicious INCLUDED Sunday lunch. Every evening enjoy more delicious dinners and cracking live entertainment

Day 4

After a final breakfast it is then time to make our way home with more convenient coffee/lunch stops along the way.

Newton Abbot

Newton Abbot is an historic market town surrounded by beautiful South Devon countryside. The town is home to a large range of shops, restaurants and open spaces. If you like shopping, there are a number of markets held throughout the week including an outdoor market held on a Wednesday and Saturday, and a popular indoor Pannier Market. As well as the markets, Newton Abbot town centre is home to wide variety of shops from high street names to independent retailers and a department store. The town also provides access to some great parks and outdoor spaces Decoy Country Park, Courteny Park and Bakers Park can all be found within walking distance of the centre, as can the Town Quay and new bridge. 


Teignmouth is a stunning coastal town with historic Georgian buildings, long sandy beaches, and fresh local food. The town sits on the edge of the mouth of the river Teign and the South Devon coast – and is surrounded by lush Devon countryside, so you won’t find a more beautiful setting for a visit. Teignmouth is the ideal year-round destination with a lovely promenade, Victorian pier, lido, play park and crazy golf all within easy reach of the beaches and town centre. Teignmouth Town Beach is a long expanse of sand with the pier, arcades and promenade whilst Teignmouth River Beach is full of beautiful fishing boats and has a wonderful quaint village feel.
