Fancy watching the rugby by the seaside? Then why not come with us on this lovely weekend break to the Isle of Wight. Set just 2 minutes from Sandown town centre with its long sandy beach & scenic cliff top walks, the Wight Bay prides itself on offering everything guests will need to have a fantastic stay! For those looking to see a bit of the island, we have included an excursion to Ryde but otherwise the rugby is the star of this trip with our £2 bar available on matchdays and a hearty Sunday lunch available too.

Situated 4 miles off England’s South Coast, the Isle of Wight is the UK’s holiday island. This diamond shaped island is a true gem and was one of Queen Victoria’s favourite spots. Over 60 miles of stunning coastal scenery and quaint villages will appeal to all ages and create lasting memories. Attractions are in plentiful supply on the island, with something to suit everyone. Get a taste of the Isle of Wight’s history and culture by visiting one of the Museums or historic sites. The most recognisable landmark is The Needles Rocks and Lighthouse. A visit to the Isle of Wight wouldn’t be complete without visiting some of its famous beaches and the island has the highest number of award-winning beaches in England.

Wight Bay Hotel

This hotel is situated just within 2 minute walk from the town centre, where there is direct access to the long sandy beach and scenic cliff top walks. Here at the Wight Bay Hotel they pride themselves on providing guests with everything they need to enjoy a fantastic stay. The modern facilities and beautiful rooms, coupled with a friendly team ensure that guests return year after year.

Day 1

After joining the coach from one of our convenient local pick up points, we head south and on to our short ferry crossing to the beautiful Isle of Wight. We expect to arrive at the lovely Wight Bay Hotel in the late afternoon. Then, after you have checked in and unpacked, why not take a quick stroll or have a drink in the bar before a tasty dinner and some great in-house entertainment? Now you're starting to feel like your're on holiday...

Days 2 - 3

Enjoy a hearty traditional English breakfast every morning along with free time to explore on your own and obviously watch as much or as little of the 6 Nations as you choose. Our £2 bar will be available on the day of the Wales game for you to enjoy and make sure you don't miss out on Sunday lunch either. For those interested in seeing more than the hotel, we have included a delightful visit to Ryde for you. Return to the hotel in the evening for tasty dinners and some great entertainment.

Day 4

After a final breakfast it is sadly time make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.


The largest town on the Island, Ryde has fine Georgian and Victorian buildings, shops, tea-rooms, pubs, restaurants, and a marina. The sea-wall promenade provides a popular walk, passing the Victorian watchtower on the way to Puckpool Park. One of the most popular holiday destinations on the Isle of Wight,
