The iconic palm trees that are always associated with Torquay could fool you into thinking you were in the Mediterranean, even in the depths of winter. The coast of Torquay is scattered with beautiful piers and russet-red cliffs. Enjoy long leisurely walks along the promenade and take in the relaxed atmosphere. Make time to walk up the steps of Royal Terrace Gardens. Remember to take in the amazing sea views across the bay at night with the lights reflecting onto the sea. Add an Agatha Christie connection and steam trains and it all adds up to some grand days out beside the sea.

TLH Carlton Hotel

This is a small and stylish Torquay Hotel is set within the TLH leisure resort and offers stunning views across Torbay. It is also only a short walk from the busy seafront and Paignton Zoo. There is a lovely restaurant and bar whilst other amenities include both indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts and nightly entertainment. The bedrooms are brightly furnished and offer guests all of the amenities that they would expect from this seaside hotel.

 

TLH Derwent Hotel

Lively and informal, the TLH Derwent is the largest of the TLH hotels. The hotel's Starlight lounge is the main hub for night-time entertainment and dancing - so there's never a dull moment at the TLH Derwent Hotel. When you stay at the TLH Derwent Hotel you get so much more than many other Torquay Hotels. TLH Aztec Spa

The Aztec Spa is reputed to be the South West’s leading spa and with a huge range of Elemis treatments available, combined with fabulous facilities, it is not hard to see why. This is a wonderful resort in which to indulge yourself!

Day 1

After joining the coach at one of our convenient local pick-up points, we head for the south coast of England and the lovely seaside resort of Torquay with convenient coffee/tea stops en route. We expect to arrive at the impressive TLH Leisure Resort in the late afternoon. Check-in, unpack and then maybe take a stroll or relax by the pool before your first delicious dinner and first night of entertainment.

Days 2-4

Enjoy a tasty traditional English breakfast every morning along with lots of free time to explore Torquay and this fabulous hotel on your own. In addition to enjoying the leisure facilities, make sure you join us on our fabulous INCLUDED excursions to Dawlish, Teignmouth and Exeter.Return to the hotel every evening to enjoy delicious dinners and some more great entertainment.

Day 5

After a final hearty breakfast, it is sadly time to make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.

Dawlish

Dawlish is a traditional seaside town with a wonderful golden sand beach on its doorstep, perfect for a bracing winter walk. The town offers a range of amusements and is centred upon The Lawn and Brook, which is home to the famous black swans. Dawlish boasts a long sandy beach which is perfect for summer day swimming, exploring rock pools or sand castle building. Dawlish Town Beach is just a short walk from the town centre and full of golden sand. The town has plenty of interesting shops and a brook that runs through the centre of a wide open green, The Lawn, which is great for games and picnics.

Teignmouth

Teignmouth is a stunning coastal town with historic Georgian buildings, long sandy beaches, and fresh local food. The town sits on the edge of the mouth of the river Teign and the South Devon coast – and is surrounded by lush Devon countryside, so you won’t find a more beautiful setting for a visit. Teignmouth is the ideal year-round destination with a lovely promenade, Victorian pier, lido, play park and crazy golf all within easy reach of the beaches and town centre. Teignmouth Town Beach is a long expanse of sand with the pier, arcades and promenade whilst Teignmouth River Beach is full of beautiful fishing boats and has a wonderful quaint village feel.

Exeter

Exeter is an ancient city on the River Exe in southwest England. Dating back to the Roman era, the Exeter City Walls surround its centre and Gothic Exeter Cathedral. Exeter Castle, a Norman landmark, overlooks leafy Northernhay and Rougemont Gardens. To their west, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM) displays fine art and costumes. The vaulted, medieval Underground Passages snake beneath the city making this a fascinating city to explore at any time of the year.
