Renowned for its exquisite architecture, tangle of quaint cobbled streets, iconic York Minster and wealth of visitor attractions, York is a flourishing city. Delve into the city’s vibrant café culture, take time out to enjoy some of the country’s most talented street entertainers or simply watch the world go by while sipping a drink by the river. Visitors to York can enjoy hundreds of attractions, museums, historic buildings, tours, shops, restaurants and bars within the compact walled city. You’re never far from an awe inspiring moment. We have also included a lovely scenic tour of York from the water on our city sightseeing cruise

Then unwrap the history of chocolate at York's unique Chocolate Story attraction, which charts this city's association with chocolate back over an incredible 3,000 years. This is a fascinating place to visit, particularly if you have a sweet tooth...

Castle Howard

Castle Howard is one of Britain’s finest historic houses, situated just outside York in the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Built over 300 years ago by Sir John Vanbrugh, today it remains home to the Howard family.

Discover the house at your own pace, admiring its awe-inspiring architecture, interiors and world-renowned collections, with something to capture everyone’s imagination. Friendly and knowledgeable guides are on hand to share stories of the house, family and artwork with visitors of all ages.
