Family run hotel with home-cooked food. Beautiful Cornish excursion destinations!

Based in pretty St Ives, with its ‘sub-tropical’ climate, choice of golden beaches and lush vegetation this resort is known as a mecca for artists because of its amazing light! Stay in a charming family-run hotel that also provides great entertainment and explore lovely Perranporth, one of Cornwall's favourite holiday destinations.

St Ives is the proud winner of a showcase of national awards including best family holiday destination by Coast magazine and one of the 10 best European beach destinations compiled by TripAdvisor.

It’s no wonder then that the town has been attracting artists for decades who come to capture the area’s undeniable natural beauty. It started with J M W Turner and the marine artist Henry Moore who first came to St Ives in the mid-1800s and since then the town has become a magnet for some of the world’s greatest painters, sculptors and ceramists.

St. Merryn Hotel - Carbis Bay, St. Ives

The family-run St. Merryn Hotel is a real favourite with Leisuretime customers and offers a very warm welcome, standing in its own grounds and large gardens overlooking St Ives Bay, around 800m from the resort centre. The hotel has a restaurant, bar and lounge. Bedrooms have TV, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities.

Day 1

After joining the coach at one of our convenient local pick up points, we head for Cornwall and our beautiful base for this tour, St Ives. There will be convenient coffee/lunch stops en route and we expect to arrive at the St Merryn Hotel in the late afternoon. Check in, unpack and then relax before dinner with a drink from the bar, all followed by great entertainment. What a start!

Days 2 - 3

Enjoy hearty traditional English breakfasts every day along with free time to explore St Ives for yourself. Make sure you join us, though, for our INCLUDED excursion to pretty Perranporth. Return to the hotel every evening for more delicious dinners and entertainment.

Day 4

After a final breakfast it is sadly time to say farewell as we make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.

Perranporth

In the 19th century Perranporth was a tin mining village. It is now a family resort with miles of golden sands, attracting surfers, sunbathers and sand yachters. It also has a golf course and boating lake and there are fine cliff walks in the area. For those who are a little more adventurous, there are caves to explore and interesting rock formations to investigate. From the coastal footpath there are lovely and rare birds to be spotted. In the spring every hedgerow and cliff top is a colourful mass of wild flowers. Penwartha Coombe has a stream running alongside the road and is a very cool and refreshing place in which to escape the bustling streets of Perranporth.
