Uninterrupted sea views from our hotel AND super excursions...

Our hotel overlooks the beautiful waters of the Firth of Clyde and has lounge, bar and entertainment.  We'll also spend a day exploring the Isle of Bute, renowned for its glorious gardens, grand architecture and friendly locals. We will have some time at Rothesay and we'll discover some of the regions hidden villages and spectacular coastal scenery.

The resort of Dunoon itself has a promenade which is lovely for an evening stroll. Dunoon Pier is one of the town’s iconic buildings, with its striking red-tiled roofs and timber in chocolate, cream and yellow... a fine place to sit and watch the comings and goings of Scottish life. It's an easy walk through the hotel gardens to the promenade. On your day at leisure in Dunoon, why not try to pick up a trip on a local pleasure cruise or if you're lucky, you might even catch a trip on the Waverley - how's that for a bit of nostalgia?

The Esplanade Hotel Dunoon

Situated in a great position overlooking Dunoon’s West Bay, this relaxed waterfront hotel is also just a short walk from the Castle Museum. Perfect for those who like to escape from the hustle and bustle, the Esplanade Hotel is the ideal location to relax & unwind with the beach right outside the hotel. The hotel also benefits from landscaped gardens and very comfortably furnished bedrooms.

Day 1

After joining the coach, we head towards Scotland and our lovely resort of Dunoon. We will have convenient coffee/lunch stops along the way and expect to arrive at our hotel late afternoon. Check in, unpack and then relax until dinner, which we know you're going to love.

Day 2 - 4

Enjoy hearty traditional Scottish breakfast daily along with free time to explore or relax on your own. Then make sure you join us for our wonderful INCLUDED excursions taking in Rothesay and spectacular scenery. Dinner and entertainment at the hotel are included and a great opportunity to make new friends and share your stories of the day.

Day 5

After a final tasty breakfast we make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.

Bute was known to the Vikings as Rothesay, a name now applied to the island's main settlement. We'll also spend a day exploring the island, renowned for its glorious gardens, grand architecture and friendly locals and have plenty of time at the town of Rothesay itself.

West Coast Scenic Tour plus Lochgoilhead

We hope for clear skies today as we head west traversing the 'Rest & be Thankful' pass, which offers spectacular views on a good day. We find ourselves at Lochgoilhead, a small village situated at the northern end of Loch Goil, a sea loch running into Loch Long. If this place looks a little familiar to you, it could be beacuse parts of the James bond film 'From Russia with Love' were filmed in Lochgoilhead - Sean Connery stayed at the Goil Inn.

Cowal Peninsular (half day)

Flanked by Loch Long and Loch Fyne, the Cowal Peninsula is a landscape of contrasts, from Munros to seaside villages. Much of Cowal is covered by The Argyll Forest Park. The Isle of Bute lies to the south of Cowal, across the Kyles of Bute. We take a morning scenic drive around the area... keep a look out for red squirrels and the rope bridges put in place to protect them from road traffic!
