King Charles Hotel

The modern King Charles Hotel has en suite bedrooms designed to suit any need or requirement, especially guests looking to explore the local area. The single, double or twin rooms are well and come with the usual features such as Freeview TV, WiFi, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Most evenings you can enjoy some entertainment provided by the hotel.

Day 1

After joining the coach at one of our local pick-up points, we head forKent and our hotel in Gillingham. There will be convenient stops en route where you can grab coffee/lunch. We expect to arrive in the late afternoon, so you can check in, unpack and settle in for dinner and some entertainment.

Days 2-3

Enjoy a tasty traditional English breakfast every morning along with free time to explore, but don’t miss out our great value excursions to Canterbury and Royal Tunbridge Wells along with entrance to the magnificent Hever and Leeds castles. Return to the hotel every evening to enjoy delicious dinners and some great entertainment.

Day 4

After a final hearty breakfast, it is sadly time to make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.

Hever Castle & Royal Tunbridge Wells

Hever Castle Spend time enjoying the beautiful interiors and historic elements of the castle as you discover the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. The stunning grounds and award-winning gardens, with statues, fountains, chess pieces cut from golden yew, 4000 roses, a Loggia at the Lake and many more wonderful sights, are a delight to walk around. You can even hire a boat on the Lake and see the lovely Japanese Tea House Folly! There is also a Military Museum to explore, as well as two mazes; a historic English Yew Maze and a splashing Water Maze.

Royal Tunbridge Wells offers Kentish town and country at its best. This historic spa town has welcomed visitors for over 400 years. Browse among the chic independent shops of the collonaded Pantiles and the High Street, with busy cafes, bars, music and one-of-a-kind shops or enjoy a bite to eat or drink in one of the many fashionable bars or restaurants dotted throughout the town.

Leeds Castle & Canterbury

Leeds Castle is one of the best -reserved historic castles in South East England, as well as one of the most iconic and is set in over 500 acres of lush green parkland. Dating back to 1119, Leeds Castle has been altered, rebuilt and added to over the past 900 years. You'll find medieval gatehouses and Norman foundations, Tudor towers and a Gloriette updated during Henry VIII's reign, as well as 19th century additions. All of this was lovingly restored during the mid-20th Century by Lady Baillie, the last private owner of Leeds Castle. Not only was the stonework revived to its former glory, but Lady Baillie also filled Leeds Castle with a stunning and somewhat eclectic range of antiques, paintings and tapestries. Not surprisingly, this opulent home used to be a hit with film stars, royalty and politicians who were frequently invited to the many parties.

Canterbury England’s most famous cathedral city sits in one of the most attractive corners of rural Kent. The majestic cathedral watches proudly over the charming, narrow streets and old buildings of this wondrous city - a delightful mix of architecture, history, art, culture, museums, shops of every description, visitor attractions and good restaurants...something for everyone!
