Wells is the smallest city in England nestled at the foot of the Mendip Hills and famed for its medieval architecture. As well as its spectacular Gothic cathedral Wells boasts the Bishop’s Palace and Vicars’ Close, said to be the oldest residential street in Europe. Wells has a wealth of fine eateries and fashionable shops. There is always lots going on in the city! We visit on Market Day, so have fun browsing the stalls full of trinkets and crafts!
