Enjoy long leisurely walks along the promenade and take in the relaxed atmosphere. Make time to walk up the steps of Royal Terrace Gardens. Remember to take in the amazing sea views across the bay at night with the lights reflecting onto the sea. Add an Agatha Christie connection and steam trains and it all adds up to some grand days out beside the sea.
We will be stopping en route at Wells to enjoy Market Day in the city. On the second day, there will be a cream tea and free time in Torquay before we head home.
The Riviera Hotel
The Riviera Hotel is in the heart of Torquay is the perfect place to enjoy fabulous food, comfortable bedrooms, cabaret entertainment, superb indoor pool and friendly customer service, and it’s just a few minutes’ walk from Torquay’s award winning beaches, sparkling blue sea and all that Torquay has to offer. The accommodation comprises 140 well-appointed bedrooms with digital flat screen TVs, hairdryers and tea & coffee making facilities. Guests can enjoy free entertainment to suit all ages on most evenings of the year, including bingo, quizzes, highly professional cabarets and dancing.
Day 1
After joining the coach, we head to the South West stopping at Wells for Market Day. The market finishes at 2pm, when we will re-join the coach and head to Torquay. We will arrive by late afternoon, so you can settle in, enjoy dinner and your first night of entertainment.
Day 2
After a tasty breakfast at the Riviera, you’ll have free time to explore Torquay, and don’t miss our included cream tea at the Riviera. In the afternoon, we’ll leave Torquay and make our way back home, taking breaks along the way. Don’t forget there are no interchanges when with Leisuretime to and from your destination, so you can sit back and relax and enjoy the coach ride.
Wells on Market Day
Wells is the smallest city in England nestled at the foot of the Mendip Hills and famed for its medieval architecture. As well as its spectacular Gothic cathedral Wells boasts the Bishop’s Palace and Vicars’ Close, said to be the oldest residential street in Europe. Wells has a wealth of fine eateries and fashionable shops. There is always lots going on in the city! We visit on Market Day, so have fun browsing the stalls full of trinkets and crafts!

Sometimes, the order of excursions can change when you are on tour. We will try not to change things, but want to make you aware that this can happen.
