Enjoy a mini break to South Devon with entertainment every night & 99p Bar!
The iconic palm trees could fool you into thinking you were in the Mediterranean. The coast of Torquay is scattered with beautiful piers and russet-red cliffs. Enjoy long leisurely walks along the promenade and take in the relaxed atmosphere. Make time to walk up the steps of Royal Terrace Gardens. Remember to take in the amazing sea views across the bay at night with the lights reflecting onto the sea. Add an Agatha Christie connection and steam trains and it all adds up to some grand days out beside the sea. On this trip we have included a visit to Exeter, and an excursion to Plymouth. You will also have time to explore and see more of Torquay.
The Riviera Hotel, Torquay
The Riviera Hotel is in the heart of Torquay and Torquay is the perfect place to enjoy fabulous food, comfortable bedrooms, cabaret entertainment, superb indoor pool and friendly customer service, and it’s just a few minutes’ walk from Torquay’s award winning beaches, sparkling blue sea and all that Torquay has to offer.
The accommodation comprises 140 well-appointed bedrooms with digital flat screen TVs, hairdryers and tea & coffee making facilities. Guests can enjoy free entertainment on most evenings of the year, including bingo, quizzes, highly professional cabarets and dancing.
Day 1 After joining the coach at one of our local pick-up points, we head to south Devon and the lovely seaside resort of Torquay. There will be a lunch stop to Exeter en route and after we have settled into our rooms, dinner will be served this evening and you can enjoy the evening entertainment. Days 2 Enjoy hearty breakfast and join us for our excluded excursion to Plymouth, before returning to the hotel for dinner and the 99p bar. Day 3After a last delicious breakfast, it is sadly time to make our way home. After stopping for a coffee/lunch break, we continue homewards.
Exeter is an ancient city on the River Exe in southwest England. Dating back to the Roman era, the Exeter City Walls surround its centre and Gothic Exeter Cathedral. Exeter Castle, a Norman landmark, overlooks leafy Northernhay and Rougemont Gardens. There is also great shopping in Princesshay and Gandy Street. What not take time for lunch at one of Exeter's cafes, tea rooms or restaurants?
Plymouth itself combines the vibrancy of a modern city with the heritage of an historic port. Plymouth Hoe is always a big hit with visitors and certainly offers the best view in town from Smeaton’s Tower Lighthouse. In the Elizabethan Barbican are the Mayflower Steps, from where the Pilgrim Fathers famously set sail for America and the rest of the city is full of interesting and welcoming shops, bars and restaurants.
