It is the world’s leading festival of ideas, bringing readers and writers together in sustainable events to inspire, examine and entertain. Entry to the festival site is free: you just buy tickets for the events you fancy. Tickets start from £5, although there are some free events and workshops.

Tenby is probably the most iconic seaside town in Wales, rivalling places like Mevagissey and Polperro for quaintness and charm. This pretty seaside town has three great beaches; north, south and castle, each with its own character and all facing in different directions so at least one should be sheltered if it happens to be windy!

We journey through the Brecon Beacons, with its picture perfect reservoirs, to Brecon, a beautiful cathedral town with views of the majestic mountains all around. We have some free time to explore the local shops and attractions as well as enjoying a cruise on the Monmouth and Brecon Canal. This historical waterway and fantastic feat of engineering (built before roads and railways) takes us on a scenic ride through a canal lock and over an aqueduct which carries the canal over the River Usk. We rejoin the coach at 17:00 to make our way back to South Wales.

Moreton in Marsh Market Day & The Cotswolds

We make our way to Moreton-in-Marsh to visit the traditional Tuesday market which is the largest in the Cotswolds. After some free time here, we make our way beautiful, historic Broadway, known as the 'Jewel of the Cotswolds' with its pretty High Street lined with horse chestnut trees and mixture of period houses and honey coloured Cotswold stone cottages. A lovely day out. We rejoin the coach at around 16:00 to 16:30, subject to traffic and travel and time of the year, to make our way back to South Wales.

Cheltenham Day Trip

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Cotswolds, Cheltenham offers a wonderful mix of the traditional and the new and is a perfect place to unwind. Cotswolds & Stratford-upon-Avon Day Trip

We make our way to the thriving market town of Moreton in Marsh in The Cotswolds. The broad High Street is lined with elegant 17th and 18th Century buildings, among them the White Hart Royal, a former manor house in which King Charles I sheltered during the Civil War and the rare Curfew Tower with its original clock and bell.

After a stop here we head to Stratford-upon-Avon, best known as the birthplace of England’s most famous bard, William Shakespeare. Stratford upon Avon is a pretty historic market town situated on the banks of the River Avon and a popular tourist destination attracting over three million visitors a year. With its beautiful surroundings, wide range of tourist attractions and great shopping, it’s not hard to see why this town is such a hit with coach trip visitors.

Subject to traffic and travel, we then rejoin the coach at around 16:45 to make our way back to South Wales.

Around 90 mins stop in Moreton in Marsh, 2.5 hours in Stratford.

Tewkesbury on Market Day - Day Trip

With a rich, vibrant history and a beautiful waterside setting, there is plenty for everyone to discover in Tewkesbury. You can take in the stunning scenery by taking a stroll beside the River Severn, or a boat trip along the Avon. Then head to Tewkesbury Abbey; an imposing feature of the town’s landscape for nearly 900 years. Renowned the world over for its fine Norman tower, ornate 12th Century ceiling and stunning stained glass windows, the Abbey is one of Gloucestershire’s most popular tourist attractions, second only to Gloucester Cathedral.

As an historic market town, Tewkesbury has been an important hub for traders to sell their wares for many hundreds of years. That legacy continues through to the present day with regular markets in the town. Every Wednesday and Saturday there is a general market in the Spring Gardens Car Park with a variety of stalls selling fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, clothes and home wares.

Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens Day Trip

Take a walk on the WILD SIDE as you stroll around the Cotswold Wildlife Park meeting the residents eye-to-eye with gentle giraffes, rhinos grazing on the Gothic manor house lawns, walk with the inquisitive lemurs, or take a ride on Bella the Train.

With over 260 different species of animals in over 120 acres of parkland, there's plenty of space to relax and get closer to the wildlife! Kids of all ages will love the adventure playground in the woods with interconnecting tree-houses, rope bridges and slides. Don't miss the Children's Farmyard with goat petting area, and daily penguin and lemur feeding.

Get acquainted with one of the largest reptile collections in the UK with crocodiles, lizards, frogs and snakes. Other indoor exhibits include the Insect and Bat Houses, Little Africa and Tropical House with free roaming sloths, bats and birds.

In the warmer months, tree ferns give the feel of a rainforest, whilst arid beds with cacti and succulents evoke the natural habitat of the meerkats. The gardens look good throughout the seasons with seasonal displays.

After a day filled with family run we rejoin the coach at 17:00 to start our homeward journey back to South Wales.

Stroud in The Cotswolds on Market Day - Day Trip

Brimming with independent shops, cafés and galleries, there are plenty of things to do in Stroud. You will find an eclectic mix of shops selling everything from fossils to fairies and vintage to vinyl, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the beautiful Five Valleys. The Shambles Market runs every Friday throughout the year. Set in one of the oldest parts of the town on the approach to St Laurence Church, the traditonal market is made up of outdoor stalls from local businesses which are predominantly food related, and the indoor stalls which are housed in the Church Hall with crafts and collectables.

National Botanic Garden of Wales Day Trip

The National Botanic Gardens of Wales set in the beautiful River Tywi valley, is both a visitor centre and a centre for research and conservation. The collection of thousands of plants varieties are spread over 500 acres of Welsh countryside. You can admire the themed gardens, the world’s largest single-span glasshouse, the plant collections, a tropical Butterfly House, nature reserve and the British Bird of Prey Centre. The Garden's centrepiece is the Great Glasshouse designed by world-famous architects Norman Foster and Partners. Inside the amazing tilted glass dome is a Mediterranean landscape dominated by a six-metre deep ravine. Rock terraces and sheer faces are cut by streams and waterfalls. A lake provides a humid habitat at the foot of the chasm. A place of international significance dedicated to conservation, horticulture, science, education, leisure and the arts. As a landmark Millennium project, the Garden of Wales links the history of the last millennium with the present.

New Quay, West Wales - Dolphin Country Day Trip

New Quay’s picturesque houses, pubs and restaurants cling to the sides of the hills rising above the blue waters of Cardigan Bay on the coast of West Wales. The town was once important for fishing and shipbuilding with wooden boats being built on the beaches. The sheltered harbour and goldens beaches now the focus of activity in the summer when New Quay becomes a bustling and vibrant holiday resort where sailing, fishing, water sports and relaxation, are among the main attractions. Bottlenose Dolphins are regularly seen swimming and diving as they follow the shoals of mackerel into the bay. For the chance of a great view of these beautiful creatures stand at the end of the Quay.

We depart New Quay around 16:30 to 17:00hrs to start our homeward journey back to South Wales.

Please note New Quay's main seafront is inaccessible to the coach so customers will be dropped off approximately 10 minutes walk away. This will also entail an uphill walk to get back to the coach.
