The world famous area known as the Cotswolds covers nearly 800 square miles over 5 counties. It is easy to see why this is such a loved area by visitors from around the world, with honey-coloured stone, quaint villages and lively market towns and rolling hills, the ‘wolds’ themselves. Bourton-on-the-Water straddles the River Windrush with its series of elegant low bridges beside neat tree-shaded greens and tidy stone banks. Standing back from the river are traditional Cotswold buildings, many of which are now gift and curio shops for the many visitors. Nearby Stow-on-the-Wold is another iconic Cotswold destination, located high up on the Roman Fosse Way and offering fabulous views from its position as the highest of the Cotswolds towns. The broad market square offers a host of shopping opportunities, from boutiques to antiquities, and of course the essential traditional tea rooms where you can take time to absorb the feel of a slower way of life. The Cotswolds paint a picture of an idyllic rural England that appeals to everyone.

We make our way to Moreton-in-Marsh to visit the traditional Tuesday market which is the largest in the Cotswolds. After some free time here, we make our way beautiful, historic Broadway, known as the 'Jewel of the Cotswolds' with its pretty High Street lined with horse chestnut trees and mixture of period houses and honey coloured Cotswold stone cottages. A lovely day out. We rejoin the coach at around 16:00 to 16:30, subject to traffic and travel and time of the year, to make our way back to South Wales. For further information, please click here (opens in a new window)
