Few locations inspire quite like England. It might be small, but England packs a lot of scenery into its pint-sized shores. It’s the home of iconic landmarks from Big Ben to Stonehenge. You’ll find swathes of natural landscapes, with 10 national parks and 34 Areas of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB). From the Lake District to the Cornish coast, alongside market towns, vibrant villages and dramatic coastline. From legendary landmarks and bustling cities to rolling emerald hills - England is an unmissable nation of contrasts and a never-ending feast for the eyes.
From York's cobbled streets to Oxford's dreaming spires, from Bristol's Floating Harbour to the Liverpool Docks, England's cities are main attractions. London, of course, is the trump card, encompassing everything from royal residences to world-class museums, landmark theatres and vast urban parks. But there's a varied urban landscape to explore outside London, too: delving into Manchester's pulsing music scene, visiting Newcastle's innovative art galleries or admiring Bath's glittering Georgian architecture. That's not forgetting the tangle of impossibly-quaint towns and villages, such as in the Lake District and The Cotswolds. And last but not least, the many fabulous seaside resorts such as Torquay, Blackpool, Bournemouth and Newquay.
