Enjoy a fun-filled day out for all the family at Monkey World – Ape Rescue Centre in Wareham, Dorset. This is an attraction the whole family will love, as the park is home to the largest group of chimpanzees outside of Africa, and many of them have been rescued. There are also two different orang-utan species and Europe’s only orang-utan crèche, plus five different species of gibbon, and 14 species of monkeys and ring-tailed lemurs. Monkey World provides a sanctuary to rescued and endangered primates from all around the world and visitors can enjoy keeper talks about the animals throughout the day, where you can learn about man’s closest relative, their personalities and the conservation work. Young children can monkey around in one of the adventure playgrounds, and when it comes to food and drink, there are plenty of open picnic spaces, cafes and kiosks where you can grab a bite to eat.
