"The Severn Valley Railway is a heritage railway offering a nostalgic journey through lovely Shropshire and Worcestershire. The 16-mile heritage line runs along the Severn Valley from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster, following the course of the River Severn for much of its route, and crossing the river on the historic Victoria Bridge. Experience a journey on the Severn Valley Railway, feeling the heat from the engine and rumbling as it moves along the tracks. Passing by breathtaking scenery, charming towns and villages, every journey on this railway is unforgettable. You’ll disembark at the northern end of the line, and have some time to explore Bridgnorth. The station there is largely original, dating to the opening of the line in 1862. The town itself is more or less two towns, Low Town and High Town with a funicular railway connecting the two. Low Town was once a thriving port on the River Severn while High Town is home to the castle, churches and 16th and 17th mansions. Please note that steam trains are sometimes substituted for diesel trains."
