Join your coach this morning and sit back as we travel to the legendary town that is Glastonbury. Explore the Abbey, reputedly the burial place of King Arthur himself, check out the fantastic independent shops or enjoy a drink or lunch in one of the many welcoming cafes and pubs before rejoining your coach and heading for our comfortable hotel for our overnight stay, with dinner included. Keep your eyes peeled for your first sight of the iconic stone circle before we arrive at the hotel.

After a filling breakfast this morning, we will begin by visiting the wonder that is the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stonehenge, the magical stone circle that is still a mystery to historians and an awesome sight to see. At the state-of-the-art sustainable Visitor Centre, discover the story of Stonehenge before the journey to the stones themselves on the included shuttle service.

Following our visit to Stonehenge we will move on to the stunning cathedral town of Salisbury, known as ‘the city in the countryside’.  Here you will have time at leisure to perhaps visit the impressive Cathedral as well as wandering around the heart of this beautiful medieval cathedral city.

Rejoin your coach later and make the journey homewards full of lovely memories and maybe mystic experiences!

Historic Glastonbury is a quirky, unique place to visit, best-known for its nearby annual music festival. A compact town, everything worth seeing is within walking distance and one of the most refreshing aspects of Glastonbury is that it is not over commercialised. The Abbey, dating from 670 AD is now an atmospheric ruin, and a visit is still very worthwhile. Prior to that time, the town existed as a Celtic religious centre. According to legend, 2000 years ago Joseph of Arimathea is said to have brought the young Jesus here. A 10-minute walk from the High Street will take you past Chalice Well to the foot of the famous mystical Glastonbury Tor. You can also enoy the 'new age' side to the town, with mystic shops and free spirits who have made Glastonbury their home. It is a legendary place that weaves its way through everything you experience here.

Needing very little introduction as one of England's oldest mysteries, Stonehenge is a Stone Age Monument that is visited by thousands annually. It is over 3,500 years old and is still in great, solid condition. It feels like stepping back in time as you explore the majesty of this amazing World Heritage Site. There is no documented purpose for the monument, but it has been referred to as a burial place, a calendar, and a place of worship and sacrifice. Your experience starts with the state-of-the-art sustainable Visitor Centre, where you can discover the story, see real artefacts, and look into the face of a man from 5,500 years ago, who has been forensically reconstructed. Journey to the stones themselves on your included shuttle service, and spend up to 45 minutes marvelling at this feat of engineering that still has us wondering how it was possible. Some visitors find their experience majestic, celestial, or spiritual when they first encounter Stonehenge. You are sure to be left in awe and feel drawn into this age old mystery!

The beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury perfectly combines the traditional with the original; Salisbury's stunning and unique attractions have been enticing visitors for hundreds of years. At the famous Cathedral Close you can visit the Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum, the former home of Sir Edward Heath at Arundells and National Trust Mompesson House, all situated in beautiful, historic buildings, not forgetting the majestic Cathedral itself which has been attracting visitors since the 13th century. Salisbury is blessed with a wealth of independent shops specialising in everything from arts and crafts, fashion and homewares to specialist food, sports and health. Be sure to pay a visit to Fisherton Mill at the northern end of Fisherton Street, one of the south’s largest arts emporiums where you can pick up something unique to remember your visit or take a well-deserved break at their award-winning café.
