When it comes to deciding where to demonstrate their aircraft's capabilities and the professionalism of their aircrew, many of the world's Air Arms put Fairford's Royal International Air Tattoo (or RIAT) at the top of their list. In previous years 245 exciting aircraft from 39 air arms representing 25 nations from around the globe touched down at RAF Fairford for the Air Tattoo, making it the best place to view an incredible range of military fixed wing and rotary aircraft. From Ireland, to Poland, Qatar, Romania , the USA and everywhere in between, this is the place to see an unrivalled global display that you won't find anywhere else! The first Air Tattoo was staged in 1971 at North Weald airfield in Essex with just over 100 aircraft taking part. From these small beginnings the show became the International Air Tattoo in 1976, and recognition of its unique status was granted by Her Majesty The Queen in 1996. Prepare to be amazed!
