Much Wenlock is the birthplace of the modern-day Olympics, and Shrewsbury, the medieval county town almost islanded by the River Severn, was the boyhood home of Charles Darwin.
The original festival for food and drink lovers, showcasing creative producers and chefs from across Ludlow and the Welsh Marches alongside a handful of invited traders. Ludlow Food Festival is held in Ludlow Castle with free talks, demonstrations and tastings across the main stages. It was the first successful food and drink festival to be held in the UK, and it's still the best one and has been going for over 20 years now.From its ancient Castle to its peaceful back streets, exploring the perfect historic town of Ludlow itself is a real pleasure. A lively friendly feel combines with over 800 years of history.
