Coach Breaks to Shropshire

Discover a different age in the heart of historic Shropshire.

Shropshire's location and history have combined to create romantic hills and hillforts, castles, ruins and mysteries. With an amazing UNESCO World Heritage site in Ironbridge Gorge with its fascinating historic museums, and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Shropshire Hills, landscapes are varied with meres and mosses, rivers and canals, and seemingly endless footpaths through fields and forests. Shropshire’s views are so unspoilt, it’s easy to pretend you’ve travelled through time to a simpler age. Found amid Shropshire’s natural beauty are charming market towns: Ludlow, Church Stretton, Oswestry and Market Drayton to name a few. Much Wenlock is the birthplace of the modern-day Olympics, and Shrewsbury, the medieval county town almost islanded by the River Severn, was the boyhood home of Charles Darwin.

Ludlow Food Festival - Day Trip

Sat, 14 Sep 2024

The original festival for food and drink lovers, showcasing creative producers and chefs from across Ludlow and the Welsh Marches alongside a handful of invited traders. Ludlow Food Festival is held in Ludlow Castle with free talks, demonstrations and tastings across the main stages. It was the first successful food and drink festival to be held in the UK, and it's still the best one and has been going for over 20 years now.

From its ancient Castle to its peaceful back streets, exploring the perfect historic town of Ludlow itself is a real pleasure. A lively friendly feel combines with over 800 years of history. Many cafes, bars, shops, beautiful and fascinating architecture and greenery all around means a visit to Ludlow will not disappoint.

We rejoin the coach around 16:30 to start our journey back to South Wales.
