We journey through the Brecon Beacons, with its picture perfect reservoirs, to Brecon, a beautiful cathedral town with views of the majestic mountains all around. We have some free time to explore the local shops and attractions as well as enjoying a cruise on the Monmouth and Brecon Canal. This historical waterway and fantastic feat of engineering (built before roads and railways) takes us on a scenic ride through a canal lock and over an aqueduct which carries the canal over the River Usk. We rejoin the coach at 17:00 to make our way back to South Wales.
Please be aware that the canal boat operates in all weather conditions, providing a unique experience regardless of the elements. While there are windows to enjoy the views, please note that there is no air conditioning, so it may feel warm on particularly sunny days.

Tenby is probably the most iconic seaside town in Wales, rivalling places like Mevagissey and Polperro for quaintness and charm. Ledbury is a small but vibrant market town in South East Herefordshire, at the foot of the Malvern Hills and close to the borders of both Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. It has historic streets lined with brilliant independent shops, plus plenty of places to refuel. The town is surrounded by woods, orchards and hills, with footpaths winding up to the Malvern Hills. Literary luminaries, including Elizabeth Barrett Browning and John Masefield, were enamoured with this beautiful area.Our scenic journey also takes us through the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, crossing the Wales–England border..

New Quay’s picturesque houses, pubs and restaurants cling to the sides of the hills rising above the blue waters of Cardigan Bay on the coast of West Wales. The town was once important for fishing and shipbuilding with wooden boats being built on the beaches. The sheltered harbour and goldens beaches now the focus of activity in the summer when New Quay becomes a bustling and vibrant holiday resort where sailing, fishing, water sports and relaxation, are among the main attractions. Bottlenose Dolphins are regularly seen swimming and diving as they follow the shoals of mackerel into the bay. For the chance of a great view of these beautiful creatures stand at the end of the Quay.
We depart New Quay around 16:30 to 17:00hrs to start our homeward journey back to South Wales.Please note New Quay's main seafront is inaccessible to the coach so customers will be dropped off approximately 10 minutes walk away.
